How hard is RepliGo Server to install and set up, and how much time will it take?

Installation times vary, of course, depending on the configuration of your network and servers. Many customers download the trial, install andconfigure it in a matter of minutes. More complex setups may take more time and require our assistance because of the varying nature of network configurations, and their interactions with RepliGo Server which combines multiple services into a useful solution.

The simplest installation of RepliGo Server is for a small company running recent versions of Exchange and Windows Servers on a single domain with the servers configured for DHCP assigned (automatic) IP addresses and default (NetBIOS) name resolution, as well as BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 4.0 or greater with Mobile Data Services already configured and functioning without a proxy. In this case, installation and configuration directly on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server machine may take as little as fifteen minutes to be up and running viewing attachments on the clients.

It can take more learning and investigation time if you don’t already have MDS running and functioning, or if you have a proxy server configured for it. Installing on multiple machines (a configuration we recommend for some high-usage situations) can take more time simply because there are more machines involved, as well as ensuring communication between them. Custom domain and DNS configurations within a network can fool our automatic configuration during installation and may require our advising on the best way to get it working in your situation, which we are happy to do. These are just a sampling of factors we have seen that cause installation to take more time.
