Why can’t the RepliGo client access RepliGo Server?
The RepliGo client communicates using HTTP connections to RepliGo Server via the BES Mobile Data Service (MDS). Therefore the connection between the two must be available before it can function correctly:
- Make sure that RepliGo Server is running. Using the Windows Services application, verify that the service is started.
- Make sure MDS is running and enabled for the user.
- Make sure the Allow Internal Connections BES IT Policy is enabled for the user.
- If RepliGo Server has been installed on a different machine than BES, check that no network restrictions exist for communication between the two machines such as packet filters or restrictive routers or firewalls.
- If a HTTP proxy is set up for MDS, you may need to set up a Proxy Mapping to allow MDS direct access to RepliGo Server rather than going through the proxy.
One way to check that the MDS connection is functioning is to access the RepliGo Server Administrator application from the BlackBerry Browser on the device. Use the Go To command and enter
http://repligoserver:4080
where repligoserver is the name of your machine where RepliGo Server is installed, and 4080 is the default port, which you may need to adjust if you changed it during installation.
If the RepliGo Server Administrator application is not accessible, then there is likely something wrong with your MDS configuration, and that will need to be resolved before RepliGo Server can function.
You may also use the BlackBerry Browser to browse to other web servers within your company network. If those are accessible but RepliGo Server is not, it is an extra piece of troubleshooting information to help figure out why RepliGo Server is not accessible.
