Why do my users see intermittent HTTP 400 errors when opening documents?

If document requests sometimes work correctly and sometimes give HTTP 400 errors, check the setting for MDS called HTTP Device Connection Timeout.  It may be set too low and disconnecting the device request in the middle of a document conversion.
