Introduction (top)

RepliGo™ represents a breakthrough in document conversion technology and mobility. In a matter of seconds, virtually any document you have on your PC can be transferred to your handheld device while maintaining the document’s original look and feel. This includes Microsoft® Office documents, Adobe® PDF files, Web pages and hundreds of other formats. Once on your device, documents can easily be viewed, printed, and shared with others using the supplied RepliGo Viewer.

RepliGo offers two methods of converting your documents.

1.
RepliGo Menu and Toolbar: This allows you to use the RepliGo menu and toolbar buttons within Microsoft® Office applications to quickly convert Office files. A toolbar button for converting Web pages with Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.5 or above is also included.
2.
RepliGo Printer: Use the File > Print command in your application to “print” to the RepliGo Printer for conversion.
These operations are discussed in greater detail later in this guide.

Once the document has been converted on your desktop computer, it can then be synchronized with your handheld device and viewed using RepliGo Viewer.

Printing from RepliGo Viewer (top)

RepliGo Viewer supports printing to infrared or Bluetooth enabled printers manufactured by HP (Hewlett-Packard). The Pocket PC based handheld device must have Bluetooth or infrared capabilities either integrated into the device or as an add-on component.

The HP Mobile Printing solution from Hewlett-Packard can also be activated from within RepliGo to print to any HP Bluetooth, infrared, or networked printer.

Text in documents printed from RepliGo Viewer is printed at a high resolution. Some graphs, charts, photos, and other images may have lost some of their original quality in the conversion process due to compression.

Infrared Printing

To print a RepliGo document from your handheld device to a compatible printer follow the steps below.

1.
Open a RepliGo document in RepliGo Viewer.
2.

Tap the Up arrow toolbar button to display the menu items and Print... from the menu. The Print dialog will appear. (See Figure 28).

Figure 28: The Print dialog

Figure 29: Searching for compatible infrared printer

10.

Once the printer is found, the information is automatically sent to the printer for processing. (See Figure 30).

Figure 30: Sending data to the printer

Bluetooth Printing

RepliGo Viewer supports printing to a Bluetooth enabled HP printer from your Pocket PC based device with integrated Bluetooth or Bluetooth add-on component.

Most Bluetooth components use the Bluetooth "Serial Port Profile". This means that supported Bluetooth hardware and software connect to a Bluetooth enabled printer using a serial port selection (COM1 - COM8).

Setting up a connection between your Pocket PC based device and your printer varies depending on the manufacturer or the Bluetooth component on your handheld. Covering each setup is beyond the scope of this guide. Refer to your user manual that accompanied your Bluetooth enabling component for your Pocket PC based device.

You should be able to print using any Pocket PC based Bluetooth enabled device that supports the “Serial Port Profile” using the following steps:

1.
Start the Bluetooth Manager software and “search” for available Bluetooth devices. You must be within 30 feet of your Bluetooth enabled printer.
2.

Once found, choose the printer from the list and assign it a serial port number is it is not already assigned.

3.
Within the RepliGo Print dialog, select the corresponding serial port from the Port drop down list.
4.
Click OK to print the document.

HP Mobile Printing

RepliGo supports the HP Mobile Printing solution from Hewlett-Packard. This means you can install the HP Mobile Printing for Pocket PC software and use this to print your RepliGo documents to any Bluetooth, infrared, or networked printer. You may want to use the HP Mobile Printing option from within RepliGo since it supports more printers, it supports network printing, and the quality of the output is usually greater than RepliGo's built-in printing output.

HP Mobile Printing software is currently only supported under Pocket PC 2002. It requires that the device have a minimum of approximately 10MB of storage memory available. To check your available storage memory, go to Settings > System > Memory. Move the slider, if necessary, to the right to allocate more available storage memory.

The HP Mobile Printing software is free and available from the Cerience web site at:
