Introduction
(top)
RepliGo™ represents a breakthrough in document conversion
technology and mobility. In a matter of seconds, virtually any document you have
on your PC can be transferred to your handheld device while maintaining the document’s
original look and feel. This includes Microsoft® Office documents, Adobe®
PDF files, Web pages and hundreds of other formats. Once on your device, documents
can easily be viewed, printed, and shared with others using the supplied RepliGo

Conversion (top)
Converting Microsoft® Office documents:
RepliGo is tuned to convert Microsoft® Office documents
in an intelligent and innovative manner. To make working with and reading these
documents a pleasant experience on handheld devices, RepliGo provides an add-in
for Microsoft® Word, Excel and PowerPoint® which not only simplifies the
conversion process, but allows it to optimize the document translation from these
applications.
After installing RepliGo and choosing to include the Microsoft®
Office Integration during the installation, you must agree to accept the RepliGo
Add-in to allow for the application integration. (See Figure 7). This dialog is
displayed the next time you start Microsoft® Word, Excel, or PowerPoint®
depending on your macro security settings.
Figure 7: The Macro Security Warning dialog
Click the Always trust macros from this source checkbox and
then click Enable Macros. This screen verifies that you are trusting the source
of the macro and it can be installed on your desktop computer. You will not see
this dialog again once you have enabled the macro.
By choosing to include the Microsoft® Office Integration
during the installation and enabling the RepliGo macro, the installer also inserts
the RepliGo menu (See Figure 8) into Microsoft® Word, Excel, and PowerPoint®
if those applications are present on the desktop computer.
Figure 8: The RepliGo Menu inside Microsoft®
Office applications
Additionally, the RepliGo toolbar (See Figure 9) is installed
for quick conversion of your document with the current settings. A convenient
button launches the RepliGo Desktop Window for access to important information,
program settings, links to technical support, documentation, demos, uninstall,
and the ReadMe file. (Some links require a live Internet connection to access).

The
RepliGo Printer: (For converting documents other than Microsoft® Office or
Internet Explorer documents) (top)
When converting documents that are not Microsoft® Office
or Microsoft® Internet Explorer Web pages, you must use the RepliGo Printer.
This special printer is for converting files other than native Microsoft®
Office documents. (See Figure 15)
Figure 15: The RepliGo Printer
Open your original document in its native application and launch
the Print dialog (usually File > Print) and select the RepliGo printer. The
conversion process takes over and creates a corresponding RepliGo document.
HotSync your desktop computer with your handheld device to ensure
that the new RepliGo document is sent to your device.
For each document you want to convert, open it in its native
application and repeat the steps above.
Your files will now be converted for viewing on your handheld
device. Once synchronized with your desktop, the new files will be accessible
in the RepliGo Viewer. |
| |
RepliGo
Viewer (top)

Document Navigation
There are several tools available to help navigate through a
document. These tools are designed to make reading, zooming, and managing documents
an easy and pleasant experience.
The following list explains each of these tools:
| 1. |
Marquee selection: From Whole
page or Zoomed views, use the stylus to marquee select an area of the document
you wish to zoom to for viewing. Press down and drag the stylus from the top-left
corner to the bottom-right corner of the area and release. (See Figure 18).

Figure 18: Whole page view marquee selection
The area that was selected by the stylus is now
shown on the screen. (See Figure 19).
Figure 19: Marquee selection result
|
| 2. |
Back and Forward arrow buttons: Use these
buttons to navigate through previous views of the page. Similar to a Web browser,
these buttons allow you to move back and forward through prior zoom levels, page
views, or pages of the document.
Note: The back and forward buttons do not record the Hand tool
movements. Thus you cannot return to prior views based on the Hand tool movements.

|
3. |
Full page button: Use this button to show
the current page in full.

|
| 4. |
Flowed tool: Use this tool to switch to
Flowed view and intelligently “re-wrap” the document's text to fit
the screen size for easy reading.
This view makes for easily readable text by resizing the text
if necessary to a comfortable reading size. You can reflow the document while
in either Whole page or Zoomed views. (See Figure 19).

Figure 20: Flowed view
TIP: Another quick way to switch to Flowed view
is to simply tap an area of text that you would like to read. This will automatically
reflow the text to fit the screen size. Tap images or photos on the page, and
it zooms to that object. |
|
| 4. |
Zoom Selection button: Use the Zoom selection
button to zoom to an optimal level. The zoom levels range from 10% to 300%. Tap
the button to display the percentages and choose a new zoom level. A highlight
indicates the current zoom level.

|
| 5. |
Hand tool: Tap the hand toolbar button
and use the stylus to move the page in any direction. This tool is only available
in Zoomed view.

|
| 6. |
Paging buttons: Tap the Paging button
to display the page numbers in multiple page documents. A highlight indicates
the current page. Tap a different page number to jump to that page.
The small arrows on both sides of the Paging buttons allow you
to navigate to the previous page or next page.

|
7. |
Rotate button: (available only for Sony Clie models
equipped with Silkscreen Virtual Graffiti area) Tap the Rotate button
to display the current page in a 90 degree rotated view. All the regular functions
of RepliGo Viewer are still available in Rotated View. This view is especially
helpful in viewing PowerPoint slides, reading large amounts of text, and landscape
oriented pages. (See Figure 21).
Simply tap the button again to return to the normal portrait
oriented view.

Figure 21: Rotated view
|
|
| 8. |
Scrollbars: Scrollbars allow for both the
vertical and horizontal navigation (up and down and side to side) through the
document. |
|
Printing from
the RepliGo Viewer (top)
RepliGo Viewer supports printing to infrared enabled printers
manufactured by HP (Hewlett-Packard). The Palm OS® based handheld device must
have infrared capabilities either integrated into the device or as an add-on component.
Devices that support Bluetooth such as Palm's Tungsten T and
the Sony Clie NZ90 can print via Bluetooth to an HP Bluetooth enabled printer.
See your device's documentation.
Text in documents printed from RepliGo Viewer is printed at
a high resolution. Some graphs, charts, photos, and other images may have lost
some of their original quality in the conversion process due to compression.
Infrared Printing
To print a RepliGo document from your handheld device to a compatible
printer follow the steps below.
| 1. |
Open a RepliGo document in RepliGo Viewer. |
| 2. |
Tap the Menu button on the Palm Graffiti area 3. |
| 3. |
Choose File > Print from the menu. This will launch
the RepliGo Print dialog. (See Figure 22).

Figure 22: The Print dialog
|
| 4. |
Choose the range of printing by selecting the appropriate radio
button under Page Range. |
| 5. |
If you do not want to print images and only wish to print text,
uncheck the Print Images checkbox. |
| 6. |
Check the Reverse Print Order checkbox if you wish to print
your document starting from the last page and printing in reverse order. On some
printers, this allows your hardcopy pages to be in the correct order when finished. |
| 7. |
Tap OK when you are satisfied with the print settings. |
| 8. |
Align your handheld device’s infrared port with the infrared
port on your HP infrared enabled printer. The handheld device and the printer
should be no more than 3 feet apart. |
| 9. |
RepliGo Viewer will search for the printer. (See Figure
23).

Figure 23: Establishing connection with infrared

|
| 10. |
Once the printer is found, the information is automatically
sent to the printer for processing. (See Figure 24).

Beaming
RepliGo Files (top)
RepliGo allows you to beam your documents to another Palm based
device. Also, Pocket PC devices can receive beamed RepliGo documents from Palm
based devices and vice versa. Since RepliG0 files are cross-platform, the files
that were converted and beamed from a Palm based device can be viewed on the Pocket
PC based device.
To beam a document to another Palm based device follow these
steps.
| 1. |
Start RepliGo Viewer on the handheld device. |
| 2. |
From the List View, select the document you wish to beam by
selecting the checkbox next to the file name. |
| 3. |
Click the RepliGo title button and choose Beam… |
| 4. |
Align the infrared ports on both devices. |
| 5. |
Follow the onscreen instructions on both devices to complete
the beaming of the document. |
Notes:
The receiving handheld device must have the RepliGo Viewer installed to view the
document.
Devices that support Bluetooth such as Palm's Tungsten T and the Sony Clie NZ90
can beam files to other Bluetooth enabled handheld devices. See your device's
documentation. |
